I would like to recommend this excellent documentary on BBC 4: High Anxieties - The Mathematics of Chaos.

It can be viewed online at the BBC 4 website (3 days remaining) or you can download it and watch it for upto 30 days later.

QUOTE
This documentary looks at how developments in mathematics over the past 40 years have completely changed our understanding of the fundamental nature of the world we live in.

As we approach tipping points in both the economy and the climate, the film examines the mathematics we have been reluctant to face up to and asks if, even now, we would rather bury our heads in the sand rather than face harsh truths.

I felt exhilarated upon watching this. It was interesting to think about applying Chaos Theory in a psychological context and how this might take place.

Finally, and at long last, in 7 delicious parts... Context slightly outdated though, mathematics good but makes reference to 2008 current events ohmy.gif

Here is shiny updated brand spanking new 2010 version: The Secret Life of Chaos (in my opinion much more beautiful and explanatory)
