. . "[A] recent British review of 31 studies on the effects of prayer has found that people who pray lead happier lives even if they never go to church. Two studies of patients at coronary care units showed that those who were prayed for recovered earlier than those who weren't -- even though they had no idea that anyone was praying for them." - "Healing Power of Faith", Reader's Digest - British Edition, September 2002

Scientists should conduct more differentiated surveys. For example, comparing "pre-defined" and "improvization" prayers; or comparing different denominations' prayers (non-denominational ones included); or comparing the praying yields - these would be interesting surveys. Prayer itself is also just one part of things called "sadhana" - other fields would be also interesting to investigate, beginning with getting up early in the dawn. biggrin.gif
