What is Osho? I looked it up online but I am too lazy to read through all the information that seems to give no information. Wasn't Rajneesh and his followers into lots of sex? Is he dead? A simple paragraph or so is all I need.

Ok...I may as well post here as it is relevant to our talk here..

OSHO: SEX & DEATH - two great taboos

Two things have been taboos in the world: sex and death. I have been condemned all around the world, simply because I talked about every taboo without any inhibition.

QUOTE (? ? ? @ Dec 14 2006, 08:49 PM)
It was the media in India that demonized osho as the sex-guru, in fact he was not even a guru. He pissed of Indians because he spoke openly about sex and taught that it was sacred and wanted to tear down the old taboos that had been in Indain culture forever about it,  and that did not jive with many...

It is very honorable that you do not want Hep C sufferers to suffer the spectre of the stigma of junkyhood lingering over their sickness but when someone types faster than you can - it is a good idea to assume and publically declare them cocaine addicts!!!

Greetings, artist formerly known as Jijaji.

I must say that i don't understand how saying that you have hep C is an act of bravery for celebrities or anyone else.

...

I think you have misunderstood, I never said HAVING hep C was an act of bravery....at all.

*

Hmm. Check my words again. Notice the word 'saying' is different than the word 'having'.

I still stick by my guns; that coming out and saying you are carrying the hepc virus or aids virus while being a celebrity is more about being open and revealing.

Bravery is a couple of ex-junkies doing the methadone program because they (must) really want to change their lives around.

Lately I've been having some cardiac symptoms. Tightness, palpitations, getting out of breath really easily. I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow to see if I can do a cath on an outpatient basis. My new insurance doesn't cover as much and I'd have to pay a great deal of money if I go in as a patient overnight.

So all the little offenses people commit just don't mean as much to me right now. It's a consciousness I wish I could maintain. I'm sure once I feel like my health is stable again I'll start becoming preoccupied with people who looked at me wrong or spoke sharply to me or slighted me in some way.

It all comes down to having limited time here and figuring out what we want to spend it on. heart.gif

Tapati, i hope the ínner squabbling' has not contributed to your health problems. For the sake of peace and good vibes (which can only help the situation) i, for one, am prepared to smoke the peace pipe with any member who i may disagree with. Agreeing to disagree amicably.

Good reminder about letting go of personal offenses. In fact, that is one of the good things most of us have taken to heart (i believe) from Gaudiya Vaisnavism; the non-acceptance or forgiveness of personal offenses along with the 'giving of respect to others while not expecting (insisting that?) the favour be returned.

Thank you, I do hope most of us have gotten something positive from GV and that is one of the best points of the philosophy as far as I'm concerned. FLOWERS.GIF

I do think there is a stigma associated with Hep C in the same way as HIV, because people jump to conclusions about how both are acquired. Yet there are a lot of ways blood can accidentally be exchanged, so it makes no sense in reality.

In Hollywood, jobs often depend on the actor or actress being perceived as healthy because if they have health challenges it can interfere with the shooting schedule for a movie and cost a lot of money. Often producers have to get extra insurance against the possibility of that happening. So those actors/actresses become damaged goods because they cost the producers more money up front in addition to their compensation. At Womenheart.org I read that it's difficult to get actresses to "come out" as having heart disease, even though there isn't a moral judgment behind that. Everyone in Hollywood worries about their next acting job. Face it, doing movies is like constantly being fired and looking for new work. They are always insecure about whether they will find it, or if what they find will be good or a box office dud. Yes when they do work they get paid very well and are the source of envy. But they don't take their next job for granted.
Brainiac
Hey nice to see you again Jijaji. Wow, sorry to hear about the Hep C and all but I sure admire your courage and bravery about it and also your need to 'come clean' about everything. That tops everything in my book and I admire those kinds of actions a lot. The fact that you posted a pic of the gorgeous Pamela Anderson also helped, heh. smile.gif

Is that a picture of you in your profile page? Interesting. Don't take this the wrong way but I never imagined you were so good-looking, heh.

I need to extrapolate this to my humorous and poetic activities and not get depressed when people don't respond to my humour with theirs or my poetics with theirs. Perhaps they do and I am too thick to discern it. Come to think of it, a lot of funny things DO often happen when I post.
