The duck could be a hidden avatar. You know, Prabhupada postulated a vegetable avatar, so why not a duck avatar?
Why not? Because there is one already. Isn't there?
You mean the Hamsa pellow? Yes, but why not have all varieties of water fowl? Remember, Vishnu's avatars are numerous, in fact, uncountable!

If Visnuhood is admitted for the duck, then Madhwa is not the one feeling his thoughts to be most dissimilar from those of the others.
Because Madhva, too, feels he is Vishnu?
Wonder what Buddha and Sankara would think about the duck and the Madhva.
That they are croaking muchly?
If the duck was Vishnu, Madhva would know it. Madhva's thoughts are Vishnu's thoughts. In that case Madhva's thoughts would differ only from the thoughts of
some of the others. Even that, however, is questionable. Buddha probably has no thoughts at all. So there would be nothing to differ from. Shankara would have only one, undifferentiated Brahman-Thought. That thought would not admit qualification by anything. We might have to face it: Vishnu is masterfully cheating himself.
