mothers have gone a long way to endanger one of the central pillars of western civilization which is consuming alchohol and getting drunk. folks are made to feel their is something wrong with them if they get drunk and pass out and this stigma is endangering my livelihood for one which is getting people drunk which is why i am joining d.a.m. or drunks against mothers.
i feel that we as drunks do have responsibilities number one which is safe driving and so we are in no way aligned with d.d.a.m. or drunk drivers against mothers and so we en toto (not the dog in the wizard of oz) renounce and condemn the activities and aims of d.d.a.m. i as a bartender inquire from my patrons after a few drinks if they are driving or not and pour drinks accordingly. one fellow who i asked said he lived right down the street and so i continued to pour him his scotch on the rocks. he fell off the front porch area of the bar and cracked his head on the pavement and had to be taken to the hospital for observation but in the end was ok and came back in a few days later to settle his bar tab. so i've learned, if folks are going to drink until they pass out, they should be at the lowest gravitational point possible for this to occur.
for years, drunks have been stigmatized that they have a problem when they like to kick back and enjoy life. besides for me what has been lost income as a bar-keep, many a good friend has given up the path of liberation through libations to become what is known as dry drunks, folks who are constantly angry or on the verge of being angry due to not listening to their heart's desire to have some drinks. its truly sad to see so many souls who have wasted their lives by not drinking and so the aims of m.a.d. is to encourage and publicize the virtues of excessive partying and drunken behaviors.
