I just posted another Vaishnava classic on Project Gutenberg:
http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/38174 These are the love poems of Vidyapati translated by Ananda Coomaraswamy back in 1915. The poems are spoken by Krishna, Radha, her Sakhis, and some Dutikas (go-betweens). Chaitanya Mahaprabhu enjoyed these poems, as well as Jayadeva's Gita-Govinda. The book has extensive notes on the poems and related topics. I'm going to come up with a Kindle Store version of this, but Project Gutenberg already has free Kindle and Nook compatible versions. |

The automatically generated version that PG provides messes up the stanza indenting and makes the poetry look and read wrong. The same book will be in the Kindle Store in a day or so. So far it looks like my goal to distribute more transcendental literature than Tripurari Swami will not be realized. The Chaitanya-charit-amrita translation has not sold any copies, and free downloads at archive.org have not taken off either. Free downloads at gutenberg.org are doing pretty well, though. |
