I've been looking for a nifty little utility that allows me to list files on disk into a text file and finally found one that does the job. Now I can make lists of all the books I have on disk. I've made a complete list of documents I have now:

  • BCD-1 - Already burned to disk; at the time I didn't think to categorise them properly and the organisation is all over the place. Mainly texts relating to atheism, although plenty of academic/religious texts relating to GV. Buddhism, Islam, Norse religion (Odin), Nietzsche, Daniel Dennett's books, Ramachandran's 2003 Reith Lectures in mp3 and PDF transcription, and a HUGE collection of books and articles by Richard Dawkins. Click on file for full listing.
  • BCD-2 - This is a much more organised listing that I just completed and uploaded now. Texts are listed in Author; Title; File type format to aid understanding. The 'Home' has a collection of miscellaneous science, scepticism and history (Nazi Germany) texts including those by Cremo and Bhaktivedanta Trust shills. Sub-directories are Atheism, Neuroscience, Philosophy, Psychology, Religion. Every filename includes date of publication and press name (Oxford University Press, Harvard, MIT, etc) where possible. Click on file for full listing.
I've only just found and used that file utility so the textfile listings of my documents don't show my books in directory format, but never mind as you'll be able to guess from the text titles in which directory you are.

This is only a bare record of what I have to hand now, and which I didn't post directly here as the lists are way too long. I still need to compile and categorise every single text/ebook I ever downloaded as this here is only the tip of the iceberg. And I can't even think of listing what I have in my physical library. whistling.gif So if anyone wants to go through these lists and pick out anything they want, feel free to send me a PM with your email address and let me know the specific filenames of the texts you want and in which listing (BCD-1 or BCD-2) they are. I can't email higher than 25MB in one go so heavier files might be uploaded to some free webspace temporarily.

In the future I'll be compiling lists of what I find on my travels and they will be much shorter so I'll just post them in here. smile.gif

Some of those titles look very interesting. Postage to the Antipodes would probably be more than if I ordered from The Book Depository.

It's PDF files and stuff I've found while surfing the web. If you want anything, PM me your email address and tell me which titles you want, and I'll get them to you. smile.gif

I find it hard to read a book on a screen. Are Kindles worth a go?
