Text from Kotaku: This is not a photoshop. This is cosplayer Jenn, dressed as the adventurous Lara Croft, hanging from a rope underneath a waterfall in Victoria, Australia. Click through to see just how far she's hanging. She's just stepped off a 165-foot waterfall, making this if not the most authentic piece of cosplay we've seen this week, then at least the most dedicated.

Jenn has been dressing up as Lara Croft for the best part of a decade now, and you can check out her work over on her deviantArt page.

The Tattoo Car by Mexican artist Betsabeé Romero. She put 'tattoos' on the 'skin' of the car which are popular with gangs, the Mara Salvatruchas, in Latin America and she combined them with some Dutch icons.

Seems Jenn is so excellent as what she does, though I'm unsure why she wants to dress as Lara Croft, for it seems to take away from her own personal dramatic physical achievements, though I'm not that familiar with Cosplaying, which seems to be an artform in itself, so she is not doubt at the head of the class in that distinction.

So that's where my first car ended up! Yes, my first car was a beige VW Beetle, though it never did have any tattoos, but rust, dents and few piercings it did wear proudly. I like how the look and feel of a tattoo on skin was transformed with airbrush onto the car, a transference of inherent style form one artform to another.

The Wilderness - Downtown - Kali Style

A music video that has the neighborhood and house I grew up in it. This is a processor intensive video, hope your system is fast enough to view it, it may take a few moments for it to be ready to play. At one point in the film, you can interactively write a post card or draw a picture with your mouse when prompted to.

The Wilderness Project is by Chris Milk, with the music and blessings of Arcade Fire.

Once you watch this film, you can go to the Wilderness home page, enter the address of your own home growing up and watch as visuals of that area will also become a part of the film.

That sounds very fresh and innovative! I like the idea of entering your home address etc. and seeing your home town integrate into the film. Not viewed the link yet, but I imagine how can one do that? Do they use Google Maps features or so to collect visuals?

Google mapping is what is used to show the address, not to mention the area around the address, including street views. At one point, animated trees start growing out of the asphalt on the street and neighborhood, growing into a forest. The ability to draw or write something on a note card that then has black birds flying over it all as well on the the videos is also very cool. I hope you and others get a chance to try it out, but then again, this is the Life as Art thread, where the rare feat of Patanjali's yoga sutra of invisibility still exists.

I checked it out, cool, even without using the proper chrome page.

Nick Risinger traveled around the Western United States and to South Africa, took 37,440 exposures, and created a 5,000 megapixel view of the Milky Way. The final product, on display at Photopic Sky Survey, is an interactive view of the night sky. You can scan across a 360-degree image, and select a toggle that will show constellations, planet, and other features.
