I feel jumpy, though that is not the fault of the feline population. I don't trust them though, and believe me they don't know the meaning of the word -- the word being trust....
I think I have or am reaching the end of my tether with appliances; spaces between furniture and the unresolved issue of the stickiness of dust.

We are just now going to swim in the sea and then we will go to the regional town to buy a child size table and chair set.

I don't have the time to make a contribution to society and ignore what is under my nose. Even if the day included 29 hours I would still run out of time to do all I wish I could.

I've been married 22 years today, and if we had a child in our first year in the temple, they would be turning 21 this year, and that blows my mind!

Who would this adult be now? How traumatic would have been the temple years for them as a child? Would they be a balanced person, a whole person now?

My 29 year-old son used to stay in the temple when he was around 8 with a well known kuli Indian devotee. I always thought he had had a fun time with lighthearted devotee talk. Last year my son told me that the morning lectures used to frighten him and he was afraid of the world and of all the demons.

This revelation has caused much soul searching on my part.

My second daughter who turns 21 soon is living in the USA and she sounds strong and vibrant. She wanted to live in a temple for some time, and then she started looking at the people who were already living there and decided otherwise.

Congratulations Kali and Bhakti!

Wow, I love the picture Milla, two stems together, held in place by an orb of water ... so much symbolism concerning relationships! Thank You!

Your kids sound great Homer, pretty balanced for young adults it seems, thanks for sharing! When I look at my old devotee friends kids, many of whom grew up here or there briefly in gurukula's and then went on to home schooling, public and privates schools, most have turned out to be pretty decent teenagers and young adults. Most had difficulties at some point in their young lives assimilating into the broader culture, but it did not take long to be everyday folks trying to find their place in the world. This does not count the many kids who I know were hurt emotionally or physically and did have a lot of work to do to get adjusted and back on track with life, but from the temple I lived in, there are a lot great young adults in the world now who grew up there.

Thank you Meta, Panda Paws and Brainiac for your Anniversary wishes. It was a simple day that Bhakti and I spent together, going to a movie and out to eat ... just hanging out and talking about life.

Looking back, time moves so fast, and maybe because we did not have children, we did not see the changes and growth that takes place as a child in your life matures. I almost feel like in a state of arrested development, where I'm thinking I'll always be 25 years old because I have no reference of moving time in my life outside of the changes I see in the mirror and that in life of friends and relatives. Perhaps that is why we adopted a dog, to have another being around to go through time with and see the changes that take place in the household. It's hard to actually see yourself or your spouse age, it happens so gradually and it takes old photos to bring you into a state of time's passing fast reality. Kids and animals in your life change that, and I honor all you parents out there that have that in your life, so cherish it to no end.
