A slab of electronica, 90% of which consists of sounds recorded from Disney's Alice in Wonderland. You can see more examples from different movies at uploader's video page. Not bad at all, and very clever. -------------------- "I know not how I may seem to others, but to myself I am but a small child wandering the vast shores of knowledge, every now and then finding a small pebble to content myself with." ~~ Plato

I liked that uploader's remix of 'The King and I'. Anyway here's a really nifty internet visual illusion: The Break of the Curveball.
Follow the instructions there. When looking at the spinning ball (and the blue spot within it) the ball appears to fall vertically. Let your gaze fall away and the ball drops at a 20-degree angle. See the difference. -------------------- "I know not how I may seem to others, but to myself I am but a small child wandering the vast shores of knowledge, every now and then finding a small pebble to content myself with." ~~ Plato

Impressive illustrations of mythical beasts from 13th Century Islamic manuscript: from ephemera assemblyman.

Whitebearded Del's wooden machine, which seems a great metaphor (or the old clockmaker analogy) for God and His creation to me; beautiful but ultimately totally useless.
Puts a smile on your face though, creation usually doesn't. |

Puts a smile on your face though, creation usually doesn't. You have to love and cherish people like Del, the world is a richer place because of them. Talking about his creative moving invention, ole Del says the following; “This here turns rotary motion to reciprocating motion and this here other one is another one doing ... uh ... rotary motion to reciprocating motion, goin up and down at different speeds.” Almost sounds like some type of mystical spiritual instruction … the mechanics of getting matter into motion, based on one crank, one hand, one mind with one original thought, though of course using various multiple woods that defy explanation and ultimate utility, yeah, like you said Gerard, sounds a lot like a metaphor for God, pretty fascinating stuff. -------------------- "It's not how many times you draw breath that counts in a lifetime, but how many time something takes your breath away."

Unbelievable pics, Dhyana. I have no idea how you get those. I found photographing birds to be such an unbelievable pain in the neck that I'm lucky to get a clear shot much less all those funny expressions.

Same here, I am lucky to get a clear shot, what to speak of a good one. But for some reason I enjoy trying. Being out in nature and trying to outsmart the guys. I'm glad you liked the pics! -------------------- Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler. (Einstein)

![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() . ![]() Great stop action photos Dhyana, all so good! The single bird just landing or hovering over the bird feeder is really full of energy, with just enough stillness to capture the intensity of the birds face and eye. The color and design of the insect photo is wonderfully done, great detail too. The sheep guy looks almost human in its facial features, you caught the essence of this wooly creature. The two cats jumping around each other is a fantastic catch, you caught it at the precise moment to feel the motion of the flying top cat, it almost creates a yin/yang symbol effect to the action. All them were fun to look at and you are certainly cultivating a knack for catching the right moment with animals, insects and birds, keep up the great work! -------------------- "It's not how many times you draw breath that counts in a lifetime, but how many time something takes your breath away."

I agree about the machine Great pictures, Dhyana! You proved me right again, I told you before to get your pictures published. (with "creation" I wasn't thinking of animals) Thank you, Gerard! Looking at picture galleries at places like dpreview.com very quickly cures one of publishing ambitions... but it also inspires one to go on. What were thinking of with "creation"? -------------------- Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler. (Einstein)

This is a funny little film about the "Ultima Cena" (The Last Supper) of Leonardo Da Vinci, and some other of his works, if you superimpose the mirror image onto the picture.
