We do not have to visit a madhouse to find disordered minds; our planet is the mental institution of the universe.

"Imaginary" universes are so much more beautiful than this stupidly constructed "real" one; and most of the finest products of an applied mathematician's fancy must be rejected, as soon as they have been created, for the brutal but sufficient reason that they do not fit the facts. (G.H. Hardy)

I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.
See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly.
I'm crying.

Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come.
Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday.
Man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob.

– – – – –

Semolina pilchard, climbing up the Eiffel Tower.
Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna.
Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allan Poe.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob.
Goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob g'goo...

"It was very hard for me to leave Iskcon because I imagined in so many activities that I did such as Sankirtana book distribution or Sankirtana kirtan parties or even Deity worship, that the demigods were overjoyed by my activities and were showering down flower petals and so I was no hurry to bloop and take up atheism as was my husband's choice of religion." Dhyana

"And then I told her how the atheistic gods were showering down blessings when pleased by an atheist's atheistic activities and these were called neutrinos and were scientifically observable unlike the mythological flower petals of the demigods." Epitau

"Gamma rays I also think of as blessings but this may be mental speculation." Dhyana

Good stuff! Quite funny. Once at my mental health support group, I mentioned that I was a monk for 7 years and folks asked what that was like? Not too much different than a mental hospital I replied.

"If genes really turn out to be totally irrelevant to the determination of modern human behavior, if we really are unique among animals in this respect, it is, at the very least, still interesting to inquire about the rule to which we have so recently become the exception.

"And if our species is not so exceptional as we might like to think,
it is even more important that we should study the rule."

Richard Dawkins

"Going to India was the most spiritual awakening and awesome thing for me ever. I was just thrilled to all limits of ecstacy waiting outside the bathroom of the jet plane knowing I was soon to pass stool at an altitude of 5 miles. Wow! Then out of the bathroom came the most goo goo gaga mayadevi you ever could imagine. Knowing she just sat on that toilet seat, I licked it clean. I then concluded I was not cut out to be a brahmacari. And then I passed stool. I even cleaned myself with a lota which was not easy in the cramped bathroom. After I got to India, not much happened." meta

William Burroughs and his shotgun art would have attested to this,
but even more so, his writings would prove it.

"Many who know me as a brahmachari, were quite surprised when I waived the white flag and got married. Besides tying my brahmana underwears onto coat racks and jumping off a chair to get them tight or jumping into a thorn bush or pouring a bucket of ice over me at the mere hint of a lusty thought, I stricly controlled the tongue by only bingeing on sweetmeats at the Sunday feast. Anyways I was on a morning japa walk and was forced to seek shelter of some dumb karmi's porch to stay dry from a severe thunder lightning rain storm. Well, coincidently, Bhakti also sought the same shelter of that porch and so we were on opposite ends and I was just hammering my brain with the maha mantra to burn any lusty thoughts. Soon it stopped raining and Bhakti left the porch and chanted around the block a few times. Finally she asked me, "Aren't you ever going to leave the porch?" to which I replied, "I shall never leave this porch." kali
