Because I knew the family, I am reprinting this from Chakra (I still have a picture of his son from when he was a baby.)

Urgent: Gaurachandra in Denver, Please Call Your Dad
by Manjari devi dasi
Posted March 28, 2007

Srila Prabhupada's dear disciple, Radha Kund das, who has lived and preached in India the last ten years, is dying of liver cancer in Vrindavana and most likely only has days left to live. He has a desire to speak with his son, Gaurachandra (Wadlow), who is about 28 and lives in Denver, Colorado.

If anyone knows Gaurachandra, please ask him to call Vaisnava dasa: +919897903111 at the Krishna Balaram Temple ASAP.

Hey, Jijaji, do you have a Denver phonebook? Last name is in the above post. I'd call him if you find a number.

I knew Radha Kunda pretty well and his first iskcon wife from LA temple...

When he moved to Vrndavana we all heard crazy stories about him living in the dharmashalas and basically homelesss with the sadhus...But years later seems he got grounded in being there and his devotions...just him being in Vrndavana for so long seemed to help him.

I was saddened to hear him doin so bad, I saw him last in Vrndavana in 03 and he looked really good....was happy.

Jaya Radha Kunda dasa,

Anyone has a recent pic of him? I think I know him too. He's short, caucasian, has a beard, wears orange, lived at Radhakund recently and is about 57?

I called India many times today with no success reaching him, I did speak to one devotee at KB mandir who gave me his direct number and told me he would tell Radha Kunda that I had called at least..

I'll try again tomorrow, I also spoke to old Iskcon Guru-Bhai's of mine today who knew him as well..one had spoken to Nitai Gaurangi, his 1st Iskcon wife...

Everyone seems to agree that he is lucky to be passing away in Vrndavana..

I knew him when his son was a baby and his wife had yet to be initiated. She was known as Nita and had started calling herself Nitai. I met her because I lived in the Spanish apartment building at 3816 Watseka, across Venice Blvd. I haven't seen her in many years. Please do pass on my respects if you talk to him or another family member.

The last time I saw Radha Kund was when he came through our area and was at Gopa's property. I'm not sure he remembered me and I didn't have a chance to really talk to him.

yes, it just hit me who he is. He is thin, used to wear alot of Tulsi malas, and an old saffron lungee , he wore white at times too, and was usually shirtless, and carried around a sastra bag often. I only knew him from Vrindavan. He is very outgoing and energetic as I remember. Sorry to hear this, though he is certainly getting the passing he desires

His going to Vrndavana and staying was the best thing that ever happened to him...

I wish him well and a safe journey into the next life...

Indestructible,
Learn thou! the Life is, spreading life through all;
It cannot anywhere, by any means,
Be anywise diminished, stayed, or changed.
But for these fleeting frames which it informs
With spirit deathless, endless, infinite,
They perish. Let them perish, Prince! and fight!
He who shall say, "Lo! I have slain a man!"
He who shall think, "Lo! I am slain!" those both
Know naught! Life cannot slay. Life is not slain!
Never the spirit was born; the spirit shall cease to be never;
Never was time it was not; End and Beginning are dreams!

Wow, Radhakunda Dasa seems like a very exceptional person! His enthusiasm for his spiritual path and his down home earthy way of explaining it is wonderful to watch and listen to. Though I may have philosophical differences, they sort of melt in his exuberance and love for his path. I wish I could of meet this person at some time of my devotional life, but thanks to all for sharing him here. I wish him well in these final days on the planet. One can only imagine that his journey is far from over and that really amazing things are about to happen! worship.gif

Differences here as well, however, I do want to honor him and hope he goes on to a better place.

After watching Radha Kund Prabhu's final statements about how wrong is anybody who w'd think that Prabhupad is NOT the ONLY guru, and how wrong is anybody who w'd look for something else in somewhere else , I had a sad feel that this type, in similar circumstances, would rather wish you to rot in hell (with your bogus guru in a package deal), than wish you to be in a better place. However, I join Kalisurfer and Jijaji in honoring him (whatever that means), his path and his passion, and hoping he gets to a better place (whatever that means). balloons.gif yawn.gif

Just for your info Arcana, I am not HONORING Radha kunda just to be honoring dying Iskcon devotees, I could care less how he thought and certainly not interested in raking his beliefs over the coals as he is literally dying.

I knew the guy personally from back in the late 70's when I was still in Iskcon and during my fringe period right after I left. We also had mutual friends. He did seem to get hard lined towards the end, but I didn't put his talk up there to advocate his teachings on Prabupada, but to honor an old friend who had nothing but kind words to say to me always.

I saw him last in Braja in 03 and that was the 1st I had seen him in many many years, he greeted me kindly although he knew we had differences as far as our philosophical outlook was concerned....
