Number of downloads: 62meaning: the "four food groups" are....... >Legumes (veggie protein) >Fruits >Grains and >Vegetables anything more is "extra" (and usually not healthy) but anything less is not healthy as well. I am a National Public Radio "head" and do not like to miss much of the info brought to the air. Back in 1991, i was lucky enough to hear how the Government was Wrestling with the Top Health Scientist of our Nation about the "four food groups". Before 1991, the "four food groups" were Milk Vegetable (which included grains and legumes) Meat and Fruits, but the scientist were pointing out that those four were not the most healthy foods, they showed that if you cut out the milk (especially whole milk) and the meat (replacing it with legumes) that the human body would always be more healthy. So those scientist replaced the old four food group with the New Four Food Group to a. Grains b. Vegetables c. Fruits d. Legumes. In that show i heard them say that "anything more than these four foods and you will decrease your health, and anything less and you will decrease your health." But they went on to say that due to politics, the Government was going to have the compromise with the scientist, keeping the meat and milk in the mix. The compromise was the "Food Pyramid" I looked for the show on NPR but did not have much luck, but apparently they are still fighting over it.................. Listen here>Building a Better Pyramid QUOTE Building a Better Pyramid by Ira Flatow Talk of the Nation, January 3, 2003 · Chances are you've seen the food guide pyramid at your local grocery store. But did you know that this simple graphic was the subject of a charged political debate back in 1991? The pyramid may be due for a radical face-lift soon, but will politics take a back seat to science this time around? Join host Ira Flatow and guests for a discussion about the food pyramid's past and its future.

All Things Considered, January 2, 1996 · Linda talks with NPR's Joe Palca about new dietary guidelines released today by the federal government. For the first time, the guidelines, issued by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Agriculture, say that a completely vegetarian diet and moderate drinking can be healthful. |

QUOTE (metamorphosis @ Jun 1 2007, 05:58 PM) Great pic, Meta. On the roof at 340 W. 55th St., in July 1976. I was there the whole time he visited, the only time he was in his building, many memories for me. I see Sudama’s head to Prabhupada's immediate right. |

Ew! Why would one encourage the growth of that particular population?

I would need an escalator to get to a fitness center. I can walk well on level ground but have trouble with stairs. There are lots of disabled people that can use some of the equipment in a fitness center but can't use others or may need disabled access to get in. I didn't know there was a temple that worships rats. Wow. -------------------- "We have fallen into the place where everything is music." --Rumi he said change the channel/i've got problems of my own/i'm so sick of hearing about drugs/and aids/and people without homes/and i said, well,/i'd like to sympathize with that/but if you/don't understand/then how can you act --Ani DiFranco My LiveJournal |

The rat is the 'vehicle' of Sri Ganesh and thus worshippable. They tend to take things rather literal in India.
