Perhaps they then want to be seen, for some unknown reason. I have thought of that as well. Perhaps they even want to be seen by only certain individuals. I cannot account for the fact that where I watched these craft fly there are probably 50 houses and I have not heard of anyone else seeing them. Actually, that is not entirely true. This is going to sound very weird (and it is weird). A couple of days after I saw what I saw a woman friend, a local real estate agent, walked right into my house and I said, "Guess what?" She answered, "You saw them." I had almost forgotten this bizarre occurrence. The way she walked straight into the house without saying hello or knocking first was very odd. This lady used to live higher up on the same mountain on which I live and at Christmas dinner at her place she was telling us of her many sightings of aircraft down by the water. Her views were even more panoramic than mine are. At the time I thought she was a little off her rocker. Besides the fact that I began seeing them in the wee hours of the morning I would have expected someone else to see them. Naturally, there is no reason that I should be aware that someone else saw the craft, particularly as most people are very reluctant to tell anyone, for obvious reasons. QUOTE It reminded me of something that Michael Shermer said a while ago on the subject: "Before determining if something is out of this world, first make sure it is not of this world." Or something like that. Stealth aircraft would be much more believable and a far cry from the reports of alien abductions? It might explain what I saw anyway. Maybe that's why I'm reserving judgement. I can't say where the aircraft originated. How could I? However, I can say that if an Earthly government had the technological capabilities displayed by the aircraft I saw I am very certain that they would have the ability to control the entire planet. Is there an historical example of such governmental restraint? -------------------- गोली मत चलाना, मैं केवल दूत हूँ

Perhaps they then want to be seen, for some unknown reason. I have thought of that as well. Perhaps they even want to be seen by only certain individuals. There is an well-known anecdote in ufo-land: Early on the morning of December 3rd, 1967, patrolman Herbert Schirmer was making his rounds near Ashland, Nebraska. He saw what he thought was a truck disabled near the side of the road. As he neared the object and switched on his high-beams, Schirmer realized that it was no truck. An oval object with red lights shining from inside was hovering about eight feet from the ground. As Schirmer watched, the thing began to ascend, shooting flames accompanied by a “siren-like” sound. It passed a few feet over the patrol car and was lost from sight in a few seconds. The incident seemed to last about ten minutes, but when Schirmer returned to the police station to write up his report, he found that he could not account for almost an hour of time. His entry in the logbook simply stated “Saw a flying saucer at the junction of highways 6 and 63, believe it or not!” He was brought to Boulder, Colorado to undergo regressive hypnosis with psychologist Dr. Leo Sprinkle. During the session, it was revealed that after he first came upon the UFO, Schirmer had been approached by three human-looking beings between 4.5 and 5 feet in height. He later drew a picture of the one he took to be the “leader.” The being addressed him, asking “Are you the watchman of this place?” Schirmer said sure, and after assurances that he wouldn’t shoot at the ship, they took him on a short tour of the interior. The Ufonauts all wore tight-fitting uniforms with fabric that covered their heads. On the right breast of their clothing, there was a patch or embroidery depicting a winged serpent. During the course of the regressions, Schirmer said that the one being he talked to left him with this admonition: “We want you to believe in us, but not too much.” |

The object is very similar to the one I saw in the original thread post.
This sounds like a very reasonable explanation... "...the majority of experts, like astronomer Julieta Fierro, a renowned science popularizer, took a more skeptical stance. Fierro believes that it cannot be said for sure if the object fell within the crater or if it is in fact "a galaxy 20,000 million light years away. It could be something incredibly distant moving behind the Earth," she said..." OK! -------------------- "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act."
