QUOTE (Dhyana @ Apr 4 2006, 11:56 AM) QUOTE (evakurvan @ Apr 3 2006, 06:47 PM) Then there is the Freudian idea that the lower part of the body is uncouth and dirty and primal and calls up anxiety of being devoured by the lower organs like the vagina. Credit where credit is due! This idea is Upanisadic, as illustrated by a recently posted and commented-upon verse about the toothless and slimy. (Goes to show that Freud was a seer.) |

QUOTE (evakurvan @ Apr 2 2006, 05:46 PM) This deluge of makeover shows where everyone comes out looking like Joan London and crying from happyness in the mirror wow i look so pretty! I am a new woman! my life is going to be great now, have so got to totally go. As if bleaching your teeth and going shopping to wear anchor lady clothes is supposed to be a peak life changing emotional experience of your life. Especially the ones spearheaded by those superficial queers caricaturing themselves in the media like playhouse puppets. That and those home decor shows. Hungarian lady I do hope I never see you on one of those shows you are more living it right now then those What Not To Wear drones can dream. Picture #2 looks like someone who just escaped out of a Whitesnake video. She should be doing the splits upside down on my red Camaro on my front lawn and then precipitous rain breaks out. I'm not talking so much about things like "What Not to Wear" or worse yet, the swan, but just a bit nicer clothing to accentuate her strong points--of which I do think her butt is one. I recognize that picture number 2 is more socially acceptable but in fact she doesn't do it for me and I would pass her up for Hungarian lady #1 if those were my only two choices. -------------------- Namo Guan Shih Yin Pusa "We have fallen into the place where everything is music." --Rumi he said change the channel/i've got problems of my own/i'm so sick of hearing about drugs/and aids/and people without homes/and i said, well,/i'd like to sympathize with that/but if you/don't understand/then how can you act --Ani DiFranco My LiveJournal Tapati's Labyrinth |

I figured you didn't mean that but I went on this tangent from the word makeover anyway and how you will see people dressed like Hungarian #1 on these shows and people will gawk like ew! - then transform the person into Katie Couric. In between there will be this most serious language about putting into prominence this, and distracting the eye from that - in this most earnest dialogue using this ostentatious art rhetoric, as though these are things people just should follow and know. Then and all this validaction and concensus agreement how great this new Katie Couric look is supposed to be, even the long lost grandmother is there on her wheelchair clapping!

I agree, and they never question their paradigm that everyone should look a certain way in order to get social approval, just that they'll feel empowered when they finally get it.

I didn't feel like this deserved its own topic but it's pretty funny and I wanted to share. I figured the pic that goes with it fits this topic, at least:

worshipers at the altar of clitoris feel that girls gone wild is the expression of womens pent up sexual frustration at a macho, but self-satisfying society. Men intrested in solely their own orgasmic experience are the real cause of these young ladies gone wild. They are the product of a penile fixated society that has forgotten that the lingam is never realized without the yoni and its full floral bloom of delight

This is a bad idea:

They will likely use their looks anyway in the future to advance themselves, if they are so enthusiastic now

I think I've seen this site before - or at least a similar one - when someone passed me the URL. I got so scared that this was child porn that I refused to enter the site. I still do, that site scares me. -------------------- - Twitterstream"This agency stands flat-footed upon the ground, and there it must remain. The world is big enough for us. No ghosts need apply." QUOTE (Kalisurfer @ Mar 27 2006, 04:56 PM) [attachment=849:attachment] Her street name is Majka, but her birth name was Zsuzsanna Kotnyek. She was born and worked hard in the rough and ready mill town of Ózd before her husband Janos, left her for a more younger and sexier woman. Her home is now the back room of Club Fantasy, a seedy nightspot in Budapest, where the strippers have adopted her as mother Zsu Zsu, someone who listens and cares for them after they sweat the nights away on Pozsonyi Avenue. She usually gets up around 4 AM for her personal soul cleaning Artik—as she makes the bar and dancing area spotless and ready for another night of skin and grin. Her clothes are hand me downs from the dancers at Club Fantasy, (famously known on Pozsonyi avenue as the SexyGirls) they don’t fit well and she does get stared down a lot on the streets of Budapest, but Majka does not care about perception anymore. She sees through the hypocrisy of fashion and appearances, like during the late nights at the club, as the richly well dressed executives and politicians come into the club late at night for lap dances and behind the curtain happy endings, while during the day they pose and preen with all the respect given to all those living the kingly class, while hiding their honesty and integrity beneath all things sewn Gucci. This picture was taken shortly after she was walking back to the club after buying things from the local Fotex store for her dancing daughters, who sleep during the day and work long and hard into the steamy night. WOW, what a sad story. How did you find all this out? |
