Hare Krishna all Glories to Jehovah!

I am sick in bed today, since my daughter just returned home from her mom's where they have sicknesses that we are not used to. I was just resting till 12pm, since going back to bed at 8am after getting up for the day at 5:30am. So while resting, i heard a car pull into the driveway. I thought it my mom, who comes to visit the town everyday, but my mom is in NH today. Then it hit me! That is not the house inspector coming around to update our assessment, they are all women! It must be the Jehovah Witnesses, and yes it was!

I love to "spar" a little with them, but my memory is so bad that i can not remember enough to do so, effectively. I figure if they want to come around every month why not use them to enliven myself and sharpen my philosophies. To some here i am sure that they would recommend that the Jehovah's just keep going to the next house, but i like the little bit of play, i am so deeply rooted in my path, not moving up or down, that i can not be moved by their thing. I just have fun for some reason talking with them and pointing out the faults! I guess at heart i am just a very faulty fault finder!

One friend of mine likes to pick on their "thinking" of how when Lord Jesus comes back, how the lambs will lay down with the lions, but until then, we all should kill animals and eat them.

Or the part where they say that the "bones will rise up" and out bodies will be in heaven just as we are here. My friend who knows the Bible and can remember things, says that there is a passage that Lord Jesus, condemns that thinking, and says something like "it is NOT that the bones will rise up"!

So i am wondering if you also like to play "devil's advocate" or "Angel's Advocate" with the Witness Protection Program? And if so, how do you "defeat" them and show them that you are not just a push over!

Dyana thanks! Poll fixed! I voted to make googly eyes with the prettiest of them. But while doing so, try to get some anti cult thought going too.

Today the prettiest was quite pretty, we talked about my study of Revelation 21 4 recent post @protectacow and this from Lord Jesus on the 10 Commandments........

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matthew 22: 37-40

she asked me what day is the best to come by and talk more, i think she likes me!

Hello Metamorphosis! I have fixed it best I could. I lost, however, your last sentence in the last option -- where you explain you are launching this poll for fun and that your own answer to it would be "Other".

I can see a box saying, Edit Poll. JUst like there are Edit boxes under all texts. I don't know if a member other than a moderator can edit a poll, but I can't see any reason why it should not be possible -- since you can edit your texts.

I personally have not had any exchanges with Jehova's Witnesses recently -- at least not the kind where they came to preach to me.

I usually politely declined. At other time, in other situations, I did discuss with them and stated my own beliefs. Oftentimes these are sincere, well-mannered religious people who are easy to respect.

that is their heaven when Lord Jesus comes back, untill then the lion kills the lamb,(but only after the lamb kills the butterfly) the black kids are shunned by the whitey as demon, the Jehovah's kill animals for their tongues urges, our bones just rot away when we die, somehow rising up later, and the books are changed to read thou shall not "murder" instead of "kill" (i know that the hebrew or greek shows "murder" but it is more traditional now in english to say "kill" and i like better), and Christmas is bad pagen ritual, as well as the Cross.

When the Jehovah Witnesses, Mormon missionaries or other Christians come to the door, we will take whatever materials they have graciously, and talk to them if we have time. Usually we will find some point of agreement, and when I was a more practicing devotee, I would hand them a paperback Bhagavad Gita as a gift to take. Young Mormons would usually take them, the Jehovah Witnesses never. I find arguing with them useless and divisive, and when I run into a very determined person who wants to show me the one truth, I cannot help but remember all the devotee preachers who used some to the same tactics and verbal challenges from my ISKCON past…so I just have to laugh at the irony of it all.

My best memories of having preachers coming to the door, was the memory of my Polish Grandmother who was in her late 90’s, who although speaking or understanding very little English, would invite them into the house, offer cake and juice and then sit and listen to them. She knew the English words Jesus, Church, Heaven, Love, Good, Yes, and would say Aahhh a lot while lifting her head up and down—as if saying yes. They would all sit for about a half and hour, the preachers thinking they were making a convert, while my grandma was just grooving on the fact that she was having some company over.

So in some circles, they provide a service for the lonely, and in others a hope of spiritual salvation, while to many, they are simply a nuisance.

To me, they are interesting people, playing roles that make this movie on planet earth just that much more fun to be in.

The Jesus figure on that pic is suspiciously reminiscent of Obi-Wan Kenobi - or wait, actually Qi-Gon Jinn would be a closer match.

Do you think George Lucas reads the JW publications?

Perhaps your right Dhyana, mine was a tactical approach much like Alice Cooper used when on stage...

However, most the time I could give a rats ass if I hurt the feelings of such mind control groups as Jehovas Witnesses..they need an awakening from their fanatical slumber and humanity needs to be saved from them as far as I am concerned. I don't subscribe to such things and in my acceptance of the truth in various religions in this world, they do not have a place whatsoever.

Ok...I'll tame it a bit by saying I find them utterly out of touch with reality and delusional...
