News about Avadhuta Siromani Dasa?, Heard about spinal injury Options

Greetings. I heard on Opposite Rule this posting:

Avadhuta Siromani Prabhu’s Padayatra America crash and injury

Dear Devotees,

Hare Krishna. During H.H. Bhaktimarga Swam’s recent visit to Gita-nagari, he told me of some news of Avadhuta Siromani prabhu and his wife Chandrabhaga devi dasi. Many Gita-nagari devotees know and love them. My family and I were new to Gita-nagari when they were preparing to depart on their Padayatra America travels that began at Gita-nagari in 2003. Bhaktimarga Swami began by saying that they had travelled some great distance, I think he said about 10,000 miles when somewhere in Central America they were in an accident involving two cars. In that accident His Grace Avadhuta Siromani Prabhu’s spinal nerve was injured, paralyzing him. I don’t know the details but it sounded severe. I have no idea what is his situation now, and I hope someone can find out more.

For anyone with even the least bodily attachment, paralysis is a most dreadful condition, and I am repeatedly struck with wonder thinking of what a great and terrible sacrifice Avadhuta Prabhu has made in glorifying the Lord. I wish I could take the dust from his feet on my head. Krishna has made such an example of his glorious devotional service at the Lotus Feet of Sri Sri Caitanya and Nityananda and Sri Nrsimhadev and the sacrifice he made in front of Them just to glorify Them, I am sure that his devotional service could lift anyone from the ocean of material suffering to obtain the sweet mercy of Sri Sri Radha Krishna. Anyone who misses the chance to serve such a wonderful Vaishnava must be on his way to hell. If you remember Avadhuta Siromani, you automatically remember Krishna. I don’t know how I can serve him, except that I know he always wants everyone to remember Sri Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu and always chant Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

Bhaktimarga Swami also said he saw Chandrabhaga in Alachua (I suppose he learned this from her), but Avadhuta was apparently still somewhere in Central America or South America (I’m not sure) and he didn’t know any more details. Bhaktimarga was concerned about her not being with him. If anyone knows her or can contact her, I would greatly appreciate knowing what is Avadhuta’s exact situation and what can be done to serve him.


This is all I have found out and I'm very curious as well. There is nothing else I can find on the web referring to the accident, only yatra info up to 2004 when things were going fine. Ideas?
