I am looking to find the Vyasa Puja offering books from the years 1975, 76 and 77. I only have a 1974 one. I don’t want the books themselves but only the lists of the devotees that resided in certain temples I either lived in or visited. Specifically I am trying to jog my memory concerning the names of certain devotees I knew in Boston, Atlanta, and NYC in 75-76, as well as all the temples I visited in 77-78 travelling with RDTSKP. Also to know from what temples some of the devotees from RDTSKP came from. If anyone has one from these years or knows how to find the info I seek, I’d appreciate any input.

I just spent the weekend at the Boston temple. What a huge old "Brownstone", with 6 floors if you count the basement and tulsi house on the roof. So very old too. On one of the most prestigious streets in the city. Only 5 devotees live there now.

Dayalu, do you know my old friend from that time period you list and Atlanta? His name is Mehajya. We just talked last night.

Yes, I believe I do remember Mehejya, and this is what I remember.
I think he was my bhakta leader, maybe temple commander, and I think I stayed in the same room with him, ground floor, in a house that would be uphill a little, to the right if you were facing the front door of the temple. He would remember me if that’s him. I got there I think in March 1976. I did still have a guitar, was shaved up, and I had alteady lived lived in NY and Boston temples for the 6 months prevoius. I remember alot of events there. Devotees like Carudesna, Balabadra, Svarupa Damodara, Sadaputa. I see other devotee faces but their names don’t all come to mind, especially the cook, who I served under in the kitchen. I remember his great chick-peas and also halava. And of course Balavanta, who gave most of the classes, what a character, as I remember him, and who wouldn’t allow me to go to NYC to see Prabhupada, and that’s why I ‘blooped’ in the middle of the night, in maybe late June, to hitch-hike to NY to see him. And see him I did, as long as he was there. I wrote something of that in my blog sometime. I think it was Mahejya whom I could not disturb as he slept when I snuck out. I’ve done several great and successful ‘bloops’.
Anyway I’m still looking for those Vyasa Puja offering books from 75-77.

Gaura Haribol Dayalu Prabhu!
I do not regularly post here but occasionally visit. I noticed your request and thought I should offer to help.
I have the following Prabhupada Vyasa Puja books in my collection.
1973, 1975, 1980, 1981 and 1985. If you let me know what years and what Temples you are interested in I could photo-copy and scan those pages to you via e-mail. I will PM you my e-mail address so you can respond through that medium.
Yours,
Stone Temple

From the 75 one I'd like to see Boston and NY. Oh, and the 73 from Boston and NY too, because those devotees came to preach here. From the 80 I'd like to see Dallas and Houston. From the 81 I'd like to see LA. at least for now. The 76 and 77 I also want to see. Thanks. smile.gif

I will scan and post the devotee rosters from the years you've requested in the next day or two. The cause for such a delay is that I need to enlist the assistance of my wife as I am quite the embecile when it comes to any such technical matters.

Stone Temple

forum rules prohibit calling members "stupid"... "imbecile" or other derogatory terms. because you are a member here, you cannot call yourself an "imbecile"

Babu,
I of course accept the spirit in which I have been officially corrected but I will also contend that the fact that I misspelled the word in question, simultaneously both exonerates me, as I didn't actually, literally, disparage anyone (In this case myself.) and also proves, through my failure to manage to do so, that my original assertion is accurate and correct.

Stone Temple

misspell does not dispell the intent of your words, imo

and to, forum policy is stupid is not stupid; even that which is stupid can never be called as such

the moderators will discuss this issue and get back to you as my opinion is not the voice of the moderating staff and so perhaps they will be more in agreement with your perspective

So here is the copy of the 1974 one I have. Interestingly it appears to have been originally owned by Ghanasyama Das, who I believe came to be later known as Bhakti Tirtha Swami. I met him in Washington D.C. and later in LA.

These are what I’m looking for. For example, in this Boston one is Bhudara who was one year ahead of me in high school, and Adi Kesava who after he took sanyasa once threw me off his bus in my hometown and also was president of Ny when I shaved up, to name just a couple in this list.

In SF where I was in 1974, I find Kesava Bharati who remembered me when I met him again in Louisville in 1977. And Jayananda who I knew from NY, and Nalini Kanta who I later knew from LA, to name a few from SF at this time.

I cannot begin to mention all those I know from this NY 1974 list. Even Omkara Devi Dasi is in this one. I mean these lists of names connected to places really brings the memories back for me. Please help me with the 1975, 76 and 77 years of these Vyasa puja books! namaste.gif
