Ran across this today..
According to some sources (VKontakte.ru, verification needed), Krishna Premi Dasi is same solist of ABBA - Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Among her devotional songs: Tulasi Maharani, Temple Of The Heart, Prayer To Lord Jagannath, Prayer To Shrila Prabhupada, The Lord Of Dwarka.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anni-Frid_Lyngstad Can any of our Nordic members verify this? "Her devotional songs" do sound like what little I know of her.. The Best of Krishna Premi Dasi - Krishna.com -------------------- "He by whom Brahman is not known, knows It, he by whom It is known, knows It not. It is not known by those who know It, It is known by those who do not know It." ~Kena Upanishad II.3

No way. Absolutely not. But Krsna Premi was a wonderful singer, one of my absolute KC favorites. Thank you for posting the link to her music -- I have never owned a tape or CD of her, and the craving to hear her again did not subside all these years!
Another thing I like about her songs is that the English translations stay faithful to the original, while being nice poetry in its own right. -------------------- Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler. (Einstein)

Thanks, Dhyana. I realized later I had a CD of hers sitting around with all untranslated bhajans. You're right, her singing really stands out (and still holds up well even in front of a fairly dated new-age-y backdrop).
The vid says ACBSP and the disciple database has her listed: Sydney 5/1971 . -------------------- "He by whom Brahman is not known, knows It, he by whom It is known, knows It not. It is not known by those who know It, It is known by those who do not know It." ~Kena Upanishad II.3

Speaking of good singers in ISKCON, has anyone heard of Agnideva das? Apparently he was an extremely popular and good singer?
I have this old tape from Golden Avatar Productions that is SIMPLY FABULOUS and I used to really love listening to it. It was Tape KT-26 and the bhajans were sung in such a beautiful voice, and I really wanted to find out the name of the singer and if he had recorded any more tapes and stuff. The GAP archive at ISKCON Desire Tree couldn't help, neither could ISKCON Media. And although Sit Properly is in the habit of collecting old ISKCON records and putting them online, they didn't have this particular tape either. I notice that this website must have been updated recently, because now they have added KT-26 to their list and tells me that it was sung by "Agnideva". (According to that list he also sang Tape KT-23, so that'll be something to look out for.) With this clue I checked out the online collection of Radio Krishna Centrale and there is just one track there by Agnideva: Radha-Krishna Prana Mora. Amazingly this is the same RKPM song that is on my Tape KT-26. So tantalising, a long search ending in just one song available. In my opinion it is not the best bhajan on the tape, but it is still a good example of how good and emotional Agnideva's voice is. -------------------- "I know not how I may seem to others, but to myself I am but a small child wandering the vast shores of knowledge, every now and then finding a small pebble to content myself with." ~~ Plato

Mandala Publishing has some CD's by Agnidev, but these new recordings made especially for them:

Yup, it's the one! They've finally acquired a copy of the Agnideva tape I had and have uploaded it. And it sounds pretty good too. Only thing though, they don't have a tracklist but that's a minor quibble.
