Perhaps some similar sort of belief can be seen in Arjuna in Gita 1.41 and 42 where there is talk of the corruption of the women of the family and the intermixture of castes (caste = a group of your own kind of people) the blood will be mixed and the kula (race, tribe, family) is destroyed?

Thank you Dhyana, I have been working on my technique, but all I wanted to say, and this also in reply to Homer, is that there were people who thought thousands of years ago that the blood was a very special fluid with special qualities as clairvoyancy. Maybe that was true or not, but perhaps in certain people it is still true and they think they have a reason to keep the blood pure. It also might be an anachronism.

The caste system is racism and invented by brahmins to keep them in power in a time long after the blood had become as it is now.

Just some occult background to an otherwise boring and overly discussed subject. As I know Hare Krishnas (ex or otherwise) never ever have any knowledge of the occult I thought I put this example in the discussion, but as usual it was a waste of time,

Is the purity of blood necessarily referring to genetically pure, or can it refer to the purity of the individuals blood? Do vampires conduct DNA tests before they guzzle down a few pints?
