Here and Now!

(6th September 2008 - 06:41 AM)

I don't believe in religions saying that - in the future you will go to heaven/paradise/the spiritual sky. I believe in here-and-now religions.
GV speaks about how to cross the ocean of the material world, and when you do you find that it was actually no ocean at all, but was just like crossing the hoofprint of a calf. Or in other words, what appeared like travelling a long distance, transformed to a here-and-now. We actually did not go anywhere.

So the big travel to somewhere "in the spiritual sky" transforms to just here-and-now.
So why travel at all?
No saviour is going to bring us there at death, no heavenly airplanes, with wings instead of jet engines. It is a transformation of our consciousness, not a travel.

And in this life, no promised land, call it Palestina, or Vrindavana. Or like some do, believe that they have to live in Indian West-Bengal to be spiritual (if so, millions of Indians would already be "spiritual" that way). It is here and now, living where we do, and just transforming how we look at things.

But maybe it is creepy. Instead of going to he nearest traveliing agent and ask to travel somewhere, we make an inner travel. So much simpler, and so much harder.
Drugs take you somewhere, and then takes you back, hopefully with your memory and sanity intact.
A transcendental trip is one you take, and you never come back. Since you never went anywhere, how can you come back?
